Our team uses specialized pressure testing equipment known as the Sealtech 430. The Sealtech 430 series makes ingenious use of a very simple fact: air flowing through an opening covered with a soapy water (“surfactant”) solution produces a bubble precisely at the opening. The system draws outside air into the RV via the roof vent, where it is dispersed, creating a positive interior pressure. This pressure difference causes air to flow outward through any outer skin faults. The application of a soapy water solution to suspicious areas of the outer skin results in a very visible bubble exactly over each fault. Each RV design has different characteristics so we have incorporated an impeller RPM controller to permit control of airflow and pressure. An accurate, easily read differential pressure gauge is also included. The system allows us to diagnose leaks accurately and rapidly Because of the large surface areas involved, and the numerous routes for air to escape a typical RV, Sealtech’s 430 series is engineered and built to produce high airflow, but only to safe nominal pressures.
Our technicians will arrive at your location within a 3-hour time window. They will require the RV to be powered and roof vents to be operable, and all windows and doors to be sealable. They will temporarily remove roof vent trim and roof vent body and install our Sealtech 430 leak detection system. They will then pressurise the vehicle and proceed to spray the exterior of the vehicle with soapy water. Leaks will present themselves as bubbles and they will then note and record the location of each suspected leak location for your reference to be delivered to a repair technician of your choosing.
We do not fix leaks, we only detect suspected intrusion points and draft a report for you to use as needed.
